Bobcats beat out Wildcats

In a battle between the Bobcats and the Wildcats, the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats defeated the College of the Ozarks Bobcats 68-50.

The low scoring game was lead by Ozark senior Emily Bell with 19 points and IWU junior Elaine Hessel with 23 points. At five minutes into the first half, the score was tied at six.

The boards were controlled by Ozark junior Madison Culpepper who grabbed 6 and Wildcat junior LeAnn Douglas who had 4.

Douglas also led her team in assists with 4. Junior Megan Jewell led Ozarks in 3 assists.

The score was 23-21 IWU at halftime.

After half, the Wildcats began to pull away with a lead and ended the game 68-50.

College of the Ozarks focused most of its shooting within the paint while IWU spread it out. IWU went 8-18 for 3-pointers and Ozarks went 0-7.

IWU will head to the semifinals on Monday at 6 p.m. to play Shawnee State University.

Shawnee State advanced after defeating Grand View University 55-75 earlier in the day.
