After a week of going 5-0, the Bronco volleyball team is now ranked No. 9. The two big games of the week were against then-No. 11 Doane College and then-No. 12 Oklahoma Baptist University.

“The win against Oklahoma Baptist, who is a very good volleyball team, I think it did a lot for these girls’ confidence, because that might be the best team we’ve played yet this year,” said Matt Buttermore, head coach.

Individually, seniors Kendra Schwein and Haley Beardsley both earned GPAC honors. Schwein was the GPAC Player of the Week  and NAIA National Player of the Week and Beardsley was the GPAC Setter of the Week.

“It means a lot. It’s just nice to be recognized for hard work and my teammates, helping to get us ranked number nine,” Schwein said. “It was just amazing to hear that overall.”

The volleyball team will play the Northwestern Red Raidersnext on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Lynn Farrell Arena.
