Students packed into the bleachers tonight for the final men’s basketball home game at Lynn Farrell arena. The HC Broncos took on the GPAC last place-ranked Concordia Bulldogs.

Students cheered in an array of sweater vests to support Coach Lance Creech in his final home game before retirement. Creech has coached 11 seasons at HC and was the GPAC Coach of the Year in 2010.

Last night, Lance Creech walked out onto the court of Lynn Farrell arena for his final regular-season home game as head coach for the HC men’s basketball team. Marcy Knudson, IBM work provided foundation for 15 years of teaching

Marcy Knudson, professor of mathematics and computer science, brought over three years of experience with the IBM corporation to Hastings. She moved to town so her husband could be closer to his family.  After working in a few other “private sector” jobs and then caring for her children as a stay-at-home mother, Knudson was ready to return to her originally-intended career, teaching. Jack Kramer, reluctant to leave students

Hastings College can be a heaven on Earth, said Jack Kramer, professor of economics and head of the CABE department.  Professors are continuously involved with students, which is what Kramer has come to love about the college.

“Exit” last step to retirement

King Berenger the First doesn’t want to die, but the audience knows from the beginning of “Exit the King,” a play by Eugene Ionesco, that only with the king’s last breath will the curtain fall. Or, in the HC production, opening May 3, when the king disappears behind the curtain into the dark and smoky backstage. The opening line, said by the first wife of the king, is “you’re going to die at the end of the show.”
