Breaking: President Dennis Trotter Hands in Resignation

As of this morning, President Dennis Trotter resigned from his position as president of Hastings College. The Board of Trustees unanimously elected Don Jackson, class of ’70, as Trotter’s successor. Jackson was previously the Vice President for Advancement, former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and former long-time global Chief Operating Officer of Easter Seals.

Campus meetings are scheduled for today with members of the Board of Trustees:

  • 12:15 PM – Students – HSU Rooms A&B
  • 7 PM – Open to anyone who wasn’t able to attend a meeting earlier in the day – HSU Rooms A&B

“I am humbled and honored to accept the stewardship of this noble institution which has meant so much to the lives of Nebraskans,” said Trotter, who has been in the position for one year. “Our challenge as I accept this mantle of leadership is to ensure that we continue not only to provide quality educational opportunities for the community but also that we live and instill within each other the values which have always been an integral component of Hastings College’s heritage.”

Building A History
