HC students receive top awards: Bronco Award & Who’s Who
The Who’s Who Award and Bronco Award, the school’s highest non-academic award, has been a Hastings College tradition which recognize the top seniors on campus. The Bronco Award was first established in 1924 and is selected from the Who’s Who winners. Update: Bombing reaches HC community
Only three days from the 18th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, two bombs were detonated, about 10 seconds apart from each other in Boston during the largest marathon in the world, The Boston Marathon.
Even though Boston is 1,591 miles away from Hastings, the explosions still had their affect on the Hastings College community. [Read more...]
SA Primary Election Results
With the primary results for the SA Elections in, Jose Jimenez/Quincy Johnson and Emily Johnson/Ben Reimer advance to the final elections.
The final elections will take place on Thursday and Friday with the results coming out either later in the day on Friday or Monday morning.

Stories about HC Professors
On February 20th, CBS Moneywatch published a list of the colleges and universities of the Top 25 professors in the nation, which was compiled by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. This listed was generated by looking at teaching scores schools received from RateMyProfessors, which received 15 million student ratings of college professors nationwide.

Men bested by Nebraska Wesleyan

Donald E. Jackson was announced as the 16th President of Hastings College this morning by the Hastings College Board of Trustees after accepting the resignation from former president, Dennis Trotter.
According to Hal Dittmer, Chair of the Hastings College Board of Trustees, at the Board of Trustees meeting two weeks ago there were conversations that lead them to anticipate the resignation from Dennis Trotter. These conversations carried on until Trotter officially presented his resignation on February 1st at a separate trustee meeting. At this meeting, Don Jackson was also unanimously approved by the board to be president. [Read more...]
Breaking: President Dennis Trotter Hands in Resignation
As of this morning, President Dennis Trotter resigned from his position as president of Hastings College. The Board of Trustees unanimously elected Don Jackson, class of ’70, as Trotter’s successor. Jackson was previously the Vice President for Advancement, former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and former long-time global Chief Operating Officer of Easter Seals.
