Bronco football and the NAIA rankings

The HC football team has had ups and downs from 2008 to 2011, however, the Broncos are rising back up in the NAIA rankings this season. HC Rodeo finish season

The season is at an end for the Hastings College Rodeo Team. The team has traveled to rodeos in Spearfish, South Dakota, Brookings, South Dakota,  Lincoln, Neb. and Dickinson, N.D.

The team was started four years ago with only three competitors and now has grown with 17 on the team. Rodeo currently competes against numerous schools from different states in the Great Plains Region.

The HC men’s team ended up fifth and the women’s team sixth overall.

In team roping, Taylor Meeske finished seventh and Kyle Sanderson finished 13th.

Felicia Brazda ended up in the top 20 in barrel racing while Sam Chytka finished 10th in the goat tying.

In the steer wrestling, Sanderson finished eighth, Jace Bowhay finished 11th and Richard Coats finished first.  Coats will also be competing in the College National Final Rodeo that takes place on June 10-16, 2012 in Casper, Wyo.

Seniors display thesis artwork

Each year, senior art students present their art thesis to the public. This year, Teal Peterson’s and Katy Gerwig’s presentations were unique in the fact that they had 3D artwork displayed. Christi Humble also presented her senior thesis. All three students expressed their innate creativity and individuality through their artwork.
